I've just seen this video of our new commercial showing Bill Gates in a shoe shop.
Look out for more in the coming months...
I just love the wiggle...

Shoe Shopping in Seattle
Thanks to TiVo I was able to rewind it and watch it again. I watched it _three times_ because I figured I had to have missed something.
It wasn't funny, clever or interesting. I was very unimpressed.
Robert,
it didn't need to be funny, clever or interesting.
It just needed to be real.
And Bill Gates in a shoe shop? That's real. As real as sitting next to him in a steak house when he's buying lunch for his family.
And real is what we want...
"OK. First impression is.. WTF???"
That was my first impression as well.
My second impression was "The cake is a lie!"
Vaporware is bad, m'kay
"And real is what we want..."
That is not the impression that this ad gives me. If you want to leave the impression of being real, then give me something with real substance, not a vague indication that you might be releasing some unspecified product in the future.
I was not that impressed however I would guess this is just the introduction to two charactors in a story and that future episodes will explain how great Vista, Windows 7, etc. really is.
No Really WTF ... I did portray BG as a cool, funny guy but that's about it. I'll have to ssume that this is merely the introduction. Because if all of the other commercials are like this then MS wasted a bunch of money on PR for Bill Gates while their product continues to get a bum rap.
