All connected up at IBM
I'm pleased that Jane and Louise thought that she'd been part of something special yesterday,
it certainly felt great to be part of such a high energy and noisy event - so different to the technical events I attend with people (mainly men) standing around silently on their own. Here, there was smiling, laughing, mingling- so different to what I'm used to.
But the best thing I saw?
Our first event was held in the Auditorium at IBM's main customer suite. It's a building about 3 or 4 floors high and it has a couple of external glass lifts rising up through the Atrium. So when we were having our speed networking session, exchanging coloured dots over coffee and generally having a good time - I noticed see a lift with about 6 men rising up through the Atrium, all staring at the area filled with women below, mouths agape.
Priceless...
