UK community day - UK user groups get together
I'm really impressed with the way that the User group community has pulled together in the UK and are holding their 2nd community event at Microsoft campus on Thursday 21st June (the longest day of the year by the way). Registration for the event is done through the UKusergroups site.
We've been trying to think of something that links all of the IT pro user groups together, the Developers have DDD day (Developer, Developer, Developer), but "Prozone" sounded a bit like a toilet cleaner, so without a catchy name for the event, we were stuck at the first hurdle really. So thank goodness the groups have decided on a sensible name. Community day means exactly what it's supposed to, no fancy branding, marketing or anything like that. just what user groups really want. Chris, who runs the Live meeting user group has said he's planning to stream the whole thing using Live meeting so hopefully you'll be able to join in wherever you happen to be in the world, and he's also having his first virtual user group meeting tomorrow at 4pm GMT (have a look here to register...).
Nathan will also follow up with another meeting of the messaging and mobility user group on 11th July (see here for details).
So I was harping on about how fantastic the logo for the vista squad was recently, but now I've seen all the logo's on the site side by side I've changed my mind. for me, it's got to be the total simplicity of the Unified Communications logo.
So which is your favourite - and why?...
