Things I love, things I hate
So there's another tagging thingy going on. Steve (who finds stuff of the Internet I've never even heard) of tagged me so I thought I'd better keep this thing going as I'm very dedicated eh? I actually like reading about other peoples favourite (and not so favourite) stuff too. So...
- name at least 5 programs (web or standalone) that you love that go against the mainstream ( optional - reason why - if possible)
- name at least 5 programs that you dislike; OSes not included, (optional - reason why - if possible)
- tag at least 5 other people
Love:
del.icio.us I never need to back up my favourites ever again, and with the amount of rebuilds I tend to do on different machines that can only be a good thing. We need a delicious type tagging tool for all the internal sites that I also use - now that would be neat...
Outlook Web Access: I know it doesn't go against the mainstream but I think it's amazing. It gives me access to mail even on holiday :-)
Live Writer: How did I ever blog without it?
Meebo: For when you're on site with a problem and really need to get through that firewall...
ClustrMaps: Shows the reach of the Internet
Wikipedia: Where the heck did I go to find stuff before? And it's editable!
Hate: <Rant on>
Live messenger. Constant interruptions from people who ONLY catch me at my most hectic and busy time, not when I'm free to talk! (how do they know that?). But If I'm sitting there with time on my hands then it's a great async chat tool. Aah - so that means it should be on my Love list then? Nope...
OneNote: Why do people want to write down so much stuff? can't they just REMEMBER things?
Viruses (virii) and worms. Destructive, counterproductive malicious and unnecessary. total waste of time and energy for businesses and consumers alike
PC games: Addictive and too time consuming, We need to get out there and smell the flowers more often before global warming totally ruins everything for the next generation.
3rd Party driver config interfaces: clunky, non intuitive and sometimes conflict with Windows default settings, they're installed in several different ways, hog the registry sometimes and are a devil to uninstall. I try to use Windows drivers wherever possible as they just work...
<Rant off>
Phew! I feel better after that. Now to tag 5 others: Jane, Jeff, James, Harold, Chris - it's over to you...
