Hieronder een handig stappenplan voor als je als partner aan de slag wilt gaan met BPOS (mda Jaaph).
- Je moet je eerst aanmelden als Microsoft registered partner via https://partner.microsoft.com/netherlands/program/managemembership/reenrollment.
- Om in aanmerking te komen voor de partner fee dien je je te registreren als BPOS reseller en een online examen te doen.
- Voor het goed kunnen implementeren adviseren wij een partner de 1-daagse technische workshop bij Qwise te volgen.
- Partners die stappen 1,2 en 3 hebben doorlopen kunnen actief door Microsoft in campagnes richting klanten worden meegenomen. Hiervoor dien je in Microsoft Pinpoint je bedrijfs- en oplossings profiel op te voeren met vermelding van de woorden „Microsoft Online Services“ en/of „ BPOS“, eventueel voorzien van eigen referentie klanten.
- Op de Nederlandse bpos partner website www.microsoft.nl/bpos vind je handige Nederlandse presentaties, links naar online trainingen en een Nederlandstalige infosheet die je in je klantgesprekken kunt gebruiken. Kijk ook eens naar de Nederlandse referentiecases en ontdek de overeenkomsten met je eigen klantsituaties.

- www.microsoft.nl/online is de Nederlandse, algemene website voor klanten met informatie over de diensten, de prijzen en de mogelijkheid direct een trial account aan te vragen.
- Je kunt als BPOS reseller ook namens de klant een account aanmaken (hetzij trial, hetzij aankoop) via de Microsoft Online Partner Sales Portal; daarmee bespaar je hen enkele handelingen en kun je instellen dat jij hun partner of record wordt.
- BPOS resellers hebben recht op 1 gratis trial account; je vraagt door middel van een service request een verlenging van 1 jaar van je trial account aan, waarbij je je Partner ID, Live ID, en gewenst aantal Seats vermeld. Deze account is puur voor demo doeleinden bedoeld. Wanneer je geïnteresseerd bent in Seats voor eigen gebruik; BPOS resellers hebben recht op een aantal gratis seats voor eigen gebruik (max. 250). De procedure hiervoor is: “A partners is required to sign up for a Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite trial using a Windows Live ID associated with an MSPP partner organization. During the sign-up process, they must enter the promo code “Partner”. After partner organization association has been confirmed, the trial will be extended to include up to 250 seats for one year.”
- Met de Partner Commerce Dashboard heb je in 1 oogopslag alle informatie over de Online Services die jouw klanten gebruiken.
- Partner fee is 12% over het eerste jaar en 6% maandelijks, zowel over de afname van het eerste jaar als de maanden daarna, zolang de klant afneemt en jou als partner of record blijft aanhouden.

Nog steeds krijgen we als Microsoft veel vragen over de ondersteuning die we bieden om de publieke bèta van SharePoint 2010 te upgraden naar de RTM versie. Daarom hieronder een aantal antwoorden op veel gestelde vragen.
In november 2009 hebben we de Public Bèta van SharePoint 2010 uitgebracht. Tot nu toe hebben veel klanten en partners deze versie gedownload en geëvalueerd. We hebben toen ook aangegeven dat de upgrade van SharePoint 2010 Bèta naar RTM niet ondersteund zal zijn voor het publiek. Alleen een minimale set aan klanten hebben een “Go Live” licentie en zullen worden ondersteund door de product groepen en Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS). Deze productgroepen zijn reeds verbonden met deze klanten en/of partners en er zullen geen nieuwe klanten en/of partners worden toegevoegd.
Q: Waarom is de upgrade van SharePoint 2010 Bèta naar RTM geblokt?
A: De informatie die verzameld is toen SharePoint Server 2007 van de bèta’s naar RTM ging, liet zien dat er toch bepaalde objecten en data achterbleef vanuit de eerdere bèta versies. Deze overblijfselen konden op lange duur naar boven komen en zorgden ervoor dat het oplossen hiervan veel tijd en energie kostten. Om dergelijke situaties te voorkomen biedt Microsoft alleen ondersteuning voor een upgrade naar RTM voor een selecte groep klanten en partners.
Q: Zal een “database attach” proces werken om zo de upgrade blocker te vermijden?
A: Een “database attach” upgrade of een “in-place” upgrade kan niet worden gebruikt om de upgrade blocker te omzeilen.
Q: Wat is een “Go Live” licentie? Waar kan ik die krijgen?
A: Een “Go Live” licentie is een getekende overeenkomst tussen Microsoft en een klant of partner waarin afspraken staan over de bèta naar RTM upgrade van SharePoint 2010, waarbij de productgroepen en CSS zich committeren om de klant of partner te ondersteunen bij het upgrade proces. Nieuwe klanten of partners worden hier niet aan toegevoegd.
Q: Zal er nog een nieuwe bèta/RC van SharePoint 2010 worden uitgebracht?
A: Nee.

When must software updates be installed?
AX
· The core update and country-specific updates need to be installed by 20 February 2010 (except Germany and Denmark)
· Why? No code changes are necessary to accommodate the changes needed for 1 January 2010. Code changes are needed for the first reporting period in 2010. The reports for the month of January 2010 are due in most countries on 20 February 2010. For Germany, the deadline for filing the EU Sales List is 10 February. In Denmark, the deadline for filing the first EU Sales List for 2010 is 20 April 2010 (for Q1 2010).
· Note: The update included in RU 3 that was released in September is no longer required to be installed. This was a change to the EU Sales List transfer functionality which allowed service items to be included in the report. However, as we started to receive requirements from tax authorities, we learned that the design did not meet all of the requirements. Some countries required the ability to report only goods, both goods and services, and only services. We decided to make this functionality available to all countries in order to keep the functionality consistent across all countries and allow for the possibility that other countries may require this variable in the future. It is not a problem if it has already been installed. The new global update (KB 977682) will overwrite this functionality with new functionality when it is installed.
NAV
· The W1 localized update needed by all countries must be installed by 31 December 2009
· Why? The code changes allow the system to differentiate between items that are services and goods when transactions are posted.
· The country-specific updates for reports and files must be installed in most countries by 20 February 2010 (except Germany and Denmark)
· Why? The changes to layout of files and reports are needed for the first reporting period in 2010. The reports for the month of January 2010 are due on 20 February 2010 in most countries. In Germany, the first EU Sales List for 2010 is due on 10 February. For Denmark, the deadline for installing the reports update is 20 April 2010 (for Q1 2010).
GP

Met de overname van Opalis wordt er een heel mooi stuk technolgie aan de System Center familie toegevoegd.
Opalis biedt kant en klare processen en workflows voor complexe datacenter beheertaken over verschillende omgevingen en omvat onder andere verregaande integratiemogelijkheden voor het orchestreren van taken voor de server infrastructuur en beheerprocessen, inclusief die van BMC, CA, IBM HP, Microsoft en Symantec.
En er is nog meer nieuws : Vanaf heden wordt de Opalis software zonder additionele kosten aan Microsoft klanten aangeboden met SMSE/SMSD.
Totdat de uiteindelijke licentievorm bekend wordt gemaakt, kunnen klanten met SMSE / SMSD de opalis technologie aanvragen.
Opalis voorziet in de licenties voor de Opalis technolgie aan bestaande Microsoft klanten die zijn gelicenseerd voor de System Center Server Management Suite Enterprise (SMSE) en de Server Management Suite Datacenter (SMSD). Deze mogelijkheid geldt voorde Opalis Integration Server, Integration Packs, en Process Catalogue software en het recht servers te beheren die zijn gelicenseerd met SMSE of SMSD.

· De Update Rollup 8 download bevat updates voor alle 40 supported Language Packs. Voorafgaand aan de installatie van de Update Rollup 8 Language pack dient men de originele Language pack te installeren.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM E-mail Router
Update Rollup 8 biedt support voor Exchange 2010. Echter, de Update Rollup 8 Rule Deployment Wizard wordt nog niet gesupport voor Exchange 2010. We are working to add that support in future Update Rollups.
Belangrijk: Microsoft beveelt haar klanten aan de update rollup 8 te installeren, zodat de CRM –software performance te volste wordt benut.
