ISA Server 2004 achieves Common Criteria Level EAL 4+ for security.

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server has achieved CC Evaluation Assurance Level 4+ (EAL 4+). Level 4 is the highest level possible that is mutually recognized by all countries participating in CC certification. This level provides the deepest evaluation and testing possible from an independent testing laboratory. In addition, ISA Server passed an even more thorough review, earning Level 4+. You can find the supporting resources and documentation on this page. This CC certificate assures you that the evaluated security features of ISA Server Standard Edition are effective and implemented correctly.

Summary

Debugging Internet Information Server (IIS) used to require several tools. Now, there is a single tool designed to reduce debugging time and increase debugging effectiveness. Debug Diagnostics Toolkit 2.0, with its easy-to-use interface, will be the primary tool used to debug IIS application problems. This webcast outlines the key features of this new toolkit and compares it to the Windows debugging toolkit.

Presenter: Simon Maddock, Escalation Engineer, Microsoft Corporation

Simon Maddock has been with Microsoft for 10 years.  He is currently an escalation engineer for the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) product.  Simon is certified as a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Application Developer, and MCSD.NET.  He lives in Las Colinas, Texas and was the leading project manager for the IIS Debug Diagnostics 1.0 tool.

I found this Support home page for IIS 6.0 really useful.

It lists the most recently released KB articles; and categorises them into 3 sections:

How To's
Fixes
Troubleshooting guides

It also links off to the Solution centre and contains links to further RSS feeds.

Generally a pretty good place to bookmark if you deal with IIS.

I was going to post this in the previous post but looking at some of the stats this video has generated, I felt it needed it's own posting.

http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=64981

....Charles Torre sits down with Martin Taylor and Bill Hilf and chats about Linux, Windows and Microsoft.

Martin Taylor is Microsoft's General Manager of Competitive Strategy. He's the guy that's been known to wear bullet proof vests at Linux conferences and reaches out to the Linux/OSS community by throwing himself into the SlashDot fire. Remember that phone interview?

Bill Hilf is a Linux developer and Microsoft Technical Director of Platform Strategy. He runs a really nifty lab where his team of Linux hackers explore the world of distros and compare Windows technologies with Linux technologies. You'll see the lab in the second part of the interview.....

I know this content is a little old but the ramp up on the next version of ASP.NET and visual studio is increasing.

There is an excellent video up on channel9.msdn.com http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=54959 by Scott Guthrie where he demo's the next version of ASP.NET and Visual Studio.

Its been getting some great feedback ont the MSDN site.

Check out our new Article section. We have started to put technical rollup articles on our blog in the article section:

http://blogs.technet.com/dssinternet/articles/category/10036.aspx

The sort of information collected falls in the category of whitepapers, updated tools or important product releases and service packs and mainly focuses on Internet and security with some Windows Platform thrown in for good measure.

Give us some feedback if you would like to see articles on a particular topic!

All the IIS webcasts can now be found here: www.iiswebcastseries.com

The toolkit comprises of:

• SSL Diagnostics: Diagnoses problems related to Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) issues.

• Authentication and Access Control Diagnostics: Diagnoses permission or security problems.

• Exchange Server SMTPDiag Tool: Gathers data for your SMTP server that is included with IIS.

• Log Parser: Sifts through thousands of log files quickly.

I would certainly recommend having a look at these tools as they can be very useful in quickly diagnosing problems with IIS.
