Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server has achieved CC Evaluation Assurance Level 4+ (EAL 4+). Level 4 is the highest level possible that is mutually recognized by all countries participating in CC certification. This level provides the deepest evaluation and testing possible from an independent testing laboratory. In addition, ISA Server passed an even more thorough review, earning Level 4+. Debugging Internet Information Server (IIS) used to require several tools. Now, there is a single tool designed to reduce debugging time and increase debugging effectiveness. It lists the most recently released KB articles; and categorises them into 3 sections:

Troubleshooting guides

It also links off to the Solution centre and contains links to further RSS feeds.

Generally a pretty good place to bookmark if you deal with IIS.

Bill Hilf is a Linux developer and Microsoft Technical Director of Platform Strategy. He runs a really nifty lab where his team of Linux hackers explore the world of distros and compare Windows technologies with Linux technologies. You'll see the lab in the second part of the interview.....

The toolkit comprises of:

• SSL Diagnostics: Diagnoses problems related to Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) issues.

• Authentication and Access Control Diagnostics: Diagnoses permission or security problems.

• Exchange Server SMTPDiag Tool: Gathers data for your SMTP server that is included with IIS.

• Log Parser: Sifts through thousands of log files quickly.

I would certainly recommend having a look at these tools as they can be very useful in quickly diagnosing problems with IIS.
