One the eve of BAI...
The Banking Industry conference is monday, so I'm looking to understand how the industry solution set as presented by the partner community intersects the Microsoft Platform which in turn intersects the specific problem set of the Norcal Insurance and Banking community. (Interestingly enough there is a risk and insurance set of seminars next door to the banking conference so its a 2 for 1 expense wise).
Fresh from our own internal Microsoft Industry conference, the contrast and compare of internal and external views will provide good insight. The BAI theme of innovation would at the onset seem a natural fit for Microsofts Experience Financial Services set of Business solutions.
My perspective to date is that there is not nearly the industry exposure to the set of compliance and customer experience solutions which have been developed utilizing the Microsoft platform.
One other anecdote..the trend to move core technology functions from the expensive Bay area to remote locales such as salt lake city, phoenix, and omaha.continues, while in general the outsourcing pendulum looks to be coming back, whether it is from offshore to onshore, or just remote to in house management. (Just the view from here).
