Desktop Standardization made easier by Softgrid
In the acquisition of Softricity, Microsoft added the capability of virtualizing applications on the desktop. Now at first blush I thought, so- Terminal server can accomplish this..however by using a virtual directory on the machine, the application can utilize the machines processing power without interfering with the registry and dll's, and the application can be deployed to the virtual environment via sms. With the time and expense currently being spent on application testing on standardized desktops, softgrid has a very short ROI.
