Notes from the Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging product team demo

While its pretty obvious that Unified messaging in Exchange 2007 will place voicemails into your Outlook inbox with the player, some non obvious items bear notice:

- You can ring a handset from the message to play the message so you dont have to play the message over speaker.

- Automated attendant - say a name and it searches the directory for the individuals name via speech recognition, currently english.

Voice access - Play Voicemail, delete voicemail, play email, forward emails with a voice comment preamble,  have calendar entries read to you, and clear calendar items over the phone, or notify meeting participants on the list that you will be late or the meeting will start late all via speech.

-- Even cooler, find email messages from a certain person or thread, flag for followup, or skip threads via saying "hide conversation" all via phone ideal for those of us with long commutes.--
