No more ASP reports? That is something I am not looking forward to if it performs like the SCOM reports now. When I use the SCOM reports now they are generally extremely slow to display.

When using Config Mgr, i love setting up a deployment and then opening the web report and just hitting refresh to watch the advert stats update. This process is very fast now.

I hope reporting services with Config Mgr have similar performance.

Here are a couple of the major painpoints for most configuration manger customers:

a) The fundamental issue that most customers run into is the timeout problem. Reports that return more than 10000 rows frequently timeout and although there are a bunch of hacks available to get around the problem the hacks seem to work in some environments and do not work on other environments.

b) Scheduling reports to be delivered via email or file share using subscriptions cannot be done easily.

Just curious - are your experiences based on SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services? If that is the case then I would highly recommend checking out SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services - the processing engine is so much faster and scalable than SQL 2005 Reporting Services.

I agree the schduling wll be a great addition. I will look at SQL 2008 in our Dev Lab and see if it can speed things up. Thanks!
