Introducing Microsoft Tag

Announced at CES, Microsoft Tag is an application lets people use the camera of their Internet-capable mobile phone to snap a tag, which then connects them to mobile content such as videos, music, product information, ring tones, free text and other promotions. Similar in concept to the iPhone applications that read barcodes, it has potential in both the business and consumer markets.

I downloaded it to my AT&T Fuze and have been playing around with it. The experience was quick and easy, and I think there’s potential because of the simplicity in creating a tag.

I tested a Microsoft Research product a few years ago that worked with barcodes.
