The Arcade Machine Fire

I went with the Mellow Marsh Man to see Arcade Fire at Brixton Academy last night (it was his birthday don't you know :) Steve's a good bloke, great conversation and into his music in a big way. On the tube back our discussion turned to blogging and the associated effort it needs if it is to be successful long term as part of an overall marketing strategy/communications platform.

Now, when I explained to Steve the that I personally take a much more light hearted approach to blogging as indicated by the spoof song lyrics in my post he replied "What spoof song lyrics?" Oh come on!!! I've been trying my best for a long time and quite a few people have picked up on this... The first one was a dead giveaway, I even told you dear reader who the artist and song was..!

It then started to get a little more interesting with only a few clues here and there...does anyone out there notice these things or should I just give up right now?!? Well, I've got news for you folks, we can build this dream together, I could write this stuff forever nothings gonna stop me now! And if this world runs out of bloggers, we'll still have each other, nothings gonna stop us, nothings gonna stop us now...

So, especially for Steve Marsh, here's a recap on the rest of the spoof lyrics so far...more to follow later, that's a promise!!!

If I didn't know I was mad I'd be starting to question my own sanity right about now (the funk soul brother :p)

Windows Vista and the BlueScreen of Death

Following the acquirement of Winternals in July, Microsoft have recently created the new Windows Sysinternals TechCenter which provides downloads of all the formerly free to download programs and add-ons that were available.

Designed for both the IT Pro and Developer audience, many Sysinternals utilities can be used to help manage, troubleshoot and diagnose Windows systems and applications.

And my personal favourite...kind of works for my sense of humour anyway...

Why bother with any of those lovely new screensavers in Windows Vista when you can download and install BlueScreen Screen Saver v3.2? You can even amend the settings to enable fake disk activity, for that extra touch of realism!

Genius! I can't wait to start off my presentations in future with this on the screen!!!

Clayts' really understands my sense of humour (not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing?) In fact, he even once laughed at one of my gags...So, when he pointed me to this, I'm sure he knew exactly what he was doing!!!

Clown Soup

A circus went on a tour of South America and whilst traveling around, one evening, deep in the jungle, the caravan was raided by cannibals.

A clown was kidnapped, taken back to the cannibal camp and boiled up in a big cooking pot before being turned into soup.

Sitting down to dinner, two of the cannibals tucked into their newly prepared clown soup. After the first mouthful, one of the cannibals turns to the other and says "Does this taste funny to you?"

My point? Why? Who cares? Really, where is the need to know this? Will I sleep easier tonight knowing this? Is the world a better place? Who funded this study?

Didn't half make me laugh though!

The Demo Showcase Team Photo

Hopefully, you are all aware of the Demo Showcase team line up - if not, you can review my earlier post here :)

Given that the new season is about to get underway, the people from that fine organisation Contoso got together to have their photo taken, in true football/soccer style.

As well as pictures, you can also find team profiles for each individual (although you'll need to at least be a registered Microsoft partner to access in depth information) such as demographics, work, psychographics, a day in the life and roles and responsibilities on the Demo Showcase home.

Now, is it just me or do others think that Tim Litton, IT Manager at Contoso should have a nice sideline business running as a Tom Hanks lookalike?

What's So Funny, Honey?

A while back, me and my team mates were having a rather nice meal in a rather nice restaurant in Seattle, can't remember the name of the place but the steaks were fantastic, I will return when I am next in town for sure as I can remember it's precise location...

Anyway, we'd got through a couple of courses when my boss decided that we should all take it in turns to tell jokes. I don't think they were quite expecting what came next from me but when I'm on for telling gags, there's no stopping me...and, sometimes this is not a good thing.

Feeling in need of a spot of light relief today, I located the World's Best Joke and also, one that I would never tell myself but very funny nonetheless and proof that a great joke never goes out of fashion, The Best Blonde Joke Ever. There's actually a couple of different version here and here. Thank heavens (and Tim Berners Lee I guess) for the invention of the Internet and this much needed humour :)
