Ice House Walkthrough

I just found this video of a walkthrough of the Microsoft Digital Ice House.  If you are in Toronto and haven't seen it, get down to Dundas Square and check it out.  It will be open from 10am to 7pm until Saturday February 3rd!

There was segment on Daily Planet tonight (discovery channel canada) that shows how the house was made.

The house is designed on a CAD system, which then computes the raw material requirements. a CNC milling machine cuts the ice blocks, engraves the logos and rough cuts the finer pieces which get carved by hand

the blocks are bonded together with water. It is a very elegant low tech solution for this high tech house

pretty cool!
