Future of the Desktop Tour Registration is Now Open!!

I'm really excited!! In three weeks Bruce Cowper and I will start touring the country for the Future of the Desktop Tour. The tour kicks off in Montreal with a special guest keynote and then criss-crosses the country to finish in Toronto on June 15. The Toronto event will also be streamed live to anyone who registers for the webcast. This means that though we may not be coming to your city on this tour, you can still get all the great content right at your desktop!!

In conjunction with the Future of the Desktop Tour, we will also be visiting user groups in the various cities for a Chalk Talk on Windows Vista and Office 2007 - an informal session that gives you the opportunity to ask questions and interact with other IT Pros.

Both the Future of the Desktop Tour and the user group sessions are sure to be exciting so register today for the city nearest you and we will see you there. I can't wait!!!

hmmm... a "national" tour that includes only four provinces..... how NHL-like.... hmmmm.... I wonder,,, did the possible NHL playoff cities have anything to do with this tour's rollout (that's why Halifax, Winnipeg and even Toronto (initially) was left out (haha))?...

Thanks for your comments. It’s true, our in person event reach is constrained by several factors, only one of which is budget. We are also limited by amount of content we need to deliver, advisor capacity and our ability to plan and execute the number activities we do per year.
If we had no constraints with people, money, content and time then we would go everywhere yet that is not our reality. I love your passion and I am excited as well as frustrated and by emails and comments like yours. We get them from Regina, Saskatoon, St John’s, Moncton, Halifax, Winnipeg, and from many more locations from individuals equally as passionate! We would like to do a lot more and while we have almost doubled our reach across the country, Canada is not a simple county to work with given its geography and spread out population. Today, we try to hit the main areas twice a year and the larger populated locations at least one more time in the year. Other than that we have to rely on webcasts, live meetings, support other speakers and sharing the content where we can.
In fact, for the Future of the Desktop Tour we are streaming the Toronto event on June 15 live to anyone who has internet access. Register for the stream and you will get the exact same content as those attending the event live. Give that a try and let us know how it works and what you think of it. Live video streaming is one way we are looking to extend our reach when we can't be in your city.

i went to SAIT in calgary on the posted day, and tried to look for the event and couldn't. the next day, i found that my (16 year old) friend found his way because he had the room number on his ticket. I printed my ticket off a week or two in advance, with no such room number. It really sucks. That was the event i was looking forward to more than the on the next day (at chinook mall), even though it was good. anyways... next time could you post room numbers earlier? and give an INCENTIVE to early-birdds, rather than giving them the finger? i know it probly wasn't YOUR fault... just try to get that stuff figured out. i'm at tom.bielecki@gmail.com
