OVERVIEW:
Microsoft is launching Business Productivity Online Suite to provide enterprise-class software to customers via subscription services that will be hosted by Microsoft and sold with partners. Business Productivity Online Suite consists of Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Office SharePoint Online, Microsoft Office Live Meeting, Microsoft Office Communications Online, and Microsoft Exchange Hosted Filtering. The suite provides streamlined communications, simplified management, and business-class reliability and security to customers and a guaranteed 99.9% Service Level Agreement.

This one day event is focused on educating partners around the deployment and administration of Business Productivity Online Suite. Training will be delivered through a series of presentations that focus on developing the skills required to subscribe, deploy, co-exist, migrate, administer, and support the online services. In addition, the workshop includes hands-on technical exercises that help the attendees gain real-world experience in administration, configuration, co-existence, migration and support of the online services. The objective of the workshop is to enable partners to successfully engage customers in new business opportunities around Business Productivity Online Suite.

ABOUT THIS COURSE:
This training is divided into a series of modules that consist of presentations and hands on labs. Additionally, this course has been designed to help students understand the necessary steps to setup basic online services as well as migrate Active Directory accounts and Exchange mailboxes to the online services. It emphasizes conceptual understanding of product features and toolsets, and it provides opportunities for hands-on experience within the key business scenarios around deployment.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
This event is intended for technical decision makers, technology implementers, and system integrators who would like to improve their ability to provide services to customers related to Business Productivity Online Suite.

PREREQUISITES:
Students should have a basic understanding of DNS, and familiarity with SharePoint, Exchange, Live Meeting, and Active Directory. In addition, students should be familiar with the basic operations of Microsoft Office.

Module 1:
Subscribing and Activating Business Productivity Online Suite.
Subscribing for services is the first point of entry into becoming a Business Productivity Online Suite customer. This module reviews the sign-up process including specifying Partner of Record, associating a Windows Live ID with the applications, specifying the base domain, and obtaining administrator password.

Module 2:
Using the Administration Center
The Administration Center website contains the services and capabilities required to manage and administer Business Productivity Online Suite. In addition to reviewing the online help, students will create and activate user accounts, and review the features of the Administration Center. Service administrators will also be involved with the installing the Single-Sign On tool, which is will be downloaded from the Administration Center in the module. This will also provide an overview of the online support mechanisms available.

Module 3:
Accessing the Services
Once users are created and assigned licenses, they can begin to access the services. Installing the Single-Sign on tool allows clients to change their initial password and provides a convenient 1-click launch for accessing the online services while reducing authentication prompts. Clients can also access the services from the “My Company” portal built for the online services.

Module 4:
Configuring and Administering Exchange Services
Customers will want to send and receive mail from their own custom domain. Administrators will create a custom domain, review the domain verification process, and learn the difference between and external-relay and authoritative domain. DNS settings necessary to properly route mail are covered. Additional Exchange Services features will be explained including Contacts, Resources, Distribution Lists, and allow/deny lists.

Module 5:
Email Migration and Active-Directory Co-Existence
Business Productivity Online Suite can use your existing Active Directory users with the services. The Active Directory synchronization tool will automatically copy your existing users to the services where they can be service enabled. In addition, the Migration tool will copy mailbox contents from an on-premise Exchange server to the services as well as allow POP3 migrations and IMAP migrations.

Module 6:
Configuring and Administering SharePoint Online
SharePoint Online offers customers the ability to use the many of the most valuable features of SharePoint without requiring an on-premise server. Administrators will create SharePoint site collections and assign the first SharePoint administrator. Once assigned, the SharePoint administrator can then manage the SharePoint site using standard SharePoint features including applying templates, creating workflows, and building integrations with existing applications.

Module 7
Launching and Using Live Meeting
Live Meeting is included in the Business Productivity Online Suite. Administration and use of Live Meeting with the services is identical to using Live Meeting as a standalone service. This module will review the steps necessary to launch the browser client and install Live Meeting, as well as the stand alone client.
