Course Description:

Software-plus-services is transforming the way people think about software. It combines Internet services with client and server software to deliver and create more compelling opportunities and solutions. The goal of the software-plus-services strategy is to empower customers with richer applications and more choices in how software is consumed, and provide partners greater opportunity through a combination of on-premise software, partner-hosted software, and Microsoft-hosted software. Microsoft is dedicated to helping its partners take advantage of this approach.

This 100-level course, “Understanding Software-plus-Services”, provides an overview and help partners articulate the Microsoft software-plus-services strategy with customers. It also is designed to help partners understand how they can deliver upon this strategy and take advantage of the breadth of opportunities that it presents through this valuable and informative training course.  

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Describe Microsoft’s Software-plus-Services strategy.
2. Discuss the importance of Microsoft partner ecosystem and their role in the delivery of this strategy.
3. Explain the difference between SaaS and S+S to customers.
4. Demonstrate S+S in action using real world examples.
5. Prepare plans to explore opportunities to extend your business with S+S.
6. Evaluate and use S+S resources published on the Microsoft Partner Portal.
