As Mark posted earlier today, the Launch activities are underway. I have posted a few behind the scenes and setup photos to the flickr group (rss), and hope to post more as the day unfolds.

Remember, get spotted wearing old launch gear, and you could win a prize.

See you at the launch events

As I was catching up on me email, I noticed one announcing the beta of SyncToy. If you have to deal with keeping multiple directories of photos (or any file for that matter) in sync, you may want to take a look at this free download.

Let me know if you find this useful.

Using RAW images in Windows XP

Outside of Microsoft, one of the things that keeps me busy is digital photography. I have been taking pictures for many years, and of lots of different activities. This weekend I'm heading downtown to the Molson Indy Toronto. I usually get a Super Photo Pass to allow me to get trackside and pit access to take some great pictures. I have a couple of Canon Digital SLR cameras to keep me occupied.

So you may be wondering what this has to do with Microsoft. Well, we have recently released the "Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP" (what a mouth full). What this provides in an integrated way to preview your RAW (Canon and Nikon) images in the Windows XP environment. So if you do any photography using RAW (as I sometimes do), you may want to take a look at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/raw.mspx

Or, if you haven't already found our professional photography page, take a look at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/default.mspx

Let me know if you are using this and find it useful.
