Need to Synchronize folders of digital images?

I’ve just got back from a lovely two week vacation that included a 7 day cruise up into Alaska. All I can say is WOW! The scenery is beautiful. I took all of my Canon equipment with me (EOS 20D, EOS D60, S500) and took hundreds of photos. Now that I’m home, I need to get all of those photos backed up onto my home server.

As I was catching up on me email, I noticed one announcing the beta of SyncToy. If you have to deal with keeping multiple directories of photos (or any file for that matter) in sync, you may want to take a look at this free download.

Using RAW images in Windows XP

Outside of Microsoft, one of the things that keeps me busy is digital photography. I have been taking pictures for many years, and of lots of different activities. This weekend I'm heading downtown to the Molson Indy Toronto. I usually get a Super Photo Pass to allow me to get trackside and pit access to take some great pictures. I have a couple of Canon Digital SLR cameras to keep me occupied.

So you may be wondering what this has to do with Microsoft. Well, we have recently released the "Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP" (what a mouth full). What this provides in an integrated way to preview your RAW (Canon and Nikon) images in the Windows XP environment.
