I have tried to do this and it breaks. The reason why appears to be IIS, as WSS3 uses the .net framework version 3 and Exchange 2007 uses .net framework 2.0.

If you install Exchange 2007 (obviously 64 bit) first then the IIS is configured for OWA with all the permissions and then also autodiscovery.

If you subsequently add WSS 3 it reinstalls the new framework 3 also unfortunately it overwrites the IIS settings so OWA breaks as does autodiscovery. Some work arounds suggest installing WSS 3 first then Exchange so Exchange picks up the last settings, or use virtual server.

Last advice I saw was don't run on the same machine.
