In knowledge management circles it is also sometimes referred to as WIIFM (what's in it for me?). &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Essentially, what is important for community is that an individual will always start from a position of self-interest, and it is only when they see the positive repercussions of their "selfish" actions, that they will engage in more communal, "community" activities. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Giving unintentional, positive "side effects" to people's individual interactions is therefore a great way to convert community lurkers into positive forces for good. Do this for yourself and the community benefits whether you care about the community or not.&lt;/P&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
