Pakistan Petroleum Limited deploys Microsoft SCCM 2007 R2 with Zero Touch OS Deployment

System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 R2 is a member of the Microsoft System Center family which is a portfolio of Enterprise Management products to help organizations manage their physical and virtual information technology (IT) environments across data centers, client computers and devices. Using these integrated and automated management solutions, IT organizations can be more productive service providers to their businesses.

Pakistan Petroleum have been successfully using various capabilities of SCCM 2007 R2 including Asset Management, Patch Management and Software Distribution for some time. They have recently implemented operating system (OS) deployment feature with Zero Touch Deployment functionality under the technical supervision of Syed Fahad Ali, consultant of Microsoft Partner – Jaffer Business Systems.

PPL is using SCCM 2007 R2 to fully automate the deployment of the operating system image with all applications without any interaction from users. With the successful implementation of this feature, PPL is expecting to reduce the client operating system deployment time from more than 2 hours to 45 minutes per machine; while achieving standardization, consistent configuration and user experience across the organization.

Mirza, Head of Information Technology at PPL has appreciated Microsoft for their commitment and partnership with PPL for helping the IT team to drive new efficiencies with the deployment of the latest technologies.
