Hi WSUS Admins, There is a new product category being added to the WSUS Products and Classifications dialog under the product family “Expression”. The new product category is for Expression Web 3.
The Expression Web 3 product category will include updates for Expression Web 3, including service packs, incremental and cumulative updates. For additional information on the Expression product family, see http://www.microsoft.com/expression. Microsoft will also be releasing a service pack for Expression Web 3 in the coming months. Expression Web 3 Service Pack 1 contains significant fixes and improvements in publishing, SuperPreview, file management, extensibility, and other areas of the program. Thanks! The WSUS Team
I am not sure where to post bug reports for WSUS but here goes.
KB968930 attempts to install itself on windows server 2008 with SP1 even though the system requirements are SP2. I am using WSUS Version: 3.2.7600.226.
This causes multiple updates to fail and after the server reboots it will attempt to configure updates however it will reboot and cause the updates to be invalid. This KB needs to have a restriction to only be pushed out/updated on Windows Server 2008 SP2 or higher clients. The installation failure is listed below on the client computer. Once I remove this update from the approved list the rest of the updates go through with no issue.
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80004002: Update for Windows Server 2008 (KB968930)
I am also encountered the same issue failing to install to Windows XP SP3 desktops only.

The patch fails on SP2 as well. There are several articles on the Internet regarding this problem. MS needs to come out with a statement about what is the real problem.
Thanks so much, Meredith! (and everyone!!) It’s great to hear from you, and it’s such a great encouragement.
