There will be a new product category added to your WSUS server Products and Classifications dialog, under the Office family today. The new category will be titled Office 2007. The Office 2007 category will allow all classifications of updates to be offered to the 2007 Microsoft Office System product family.
2 Office related questions not strictly in line with the post...
1) When are we going to see the details you promised us weeks ago about the fix for the Office update scanning bug in MSI.DLL? When will we be able to distribute it through WSUS?
2) When will we see the Office backwards compatability pack for Office 2003 posted up on WSUS?
re: Office 2007 Compatibility Pack
I was wondering the same thing. Will it be offerred via WSUS?
We have packaged it up and have it out to a group of test machines but if it's coming down the pipe as a WSUS update, that would be our preferred mechanism (as opposed to GPO deploy).
Given that Windows Media Player came out via WSUS, I would expect the Office Compatibility pack to be treated the same way but any timeline would be appreciated.
Any word on this issue, will or will it not be offered via WSUS. I am talking about the "Office 2007 Compatibility Pack".
Fall is coming here at college and we would like to firm up how we are going to push this Pack to clients, most likely via zenworks if not going to be available via WSUS.
Anybody have any news on this?
Thanks for the its much appreciated
