We posted a new video at TechNet Edge:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/running-setprint-ps1-on-windows-server-2008-r2

This video shows you how to run a PowerShell script that sets default settings for all the print queues on your Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 print server.

The script can set the following default settings: color, mono, twosided, onesided, and staple.

You can find a copy of setprint.ps1 on the TechNet Wiki or the TechNet Script Center Repository.

Challenge: Make improvements to this script and repost to the Wiki!

  • Updated the setprint.ps1 script to include a "show" parameter to show you the properties of the print queues.
