After a one-year hiatus, I am returning to publish The Cable Guy column in the May 2009 issue of TechNet Magazine online!
With this monthly column, I get to introduce new Windows networking features, dive into the technical details of existing features, describe hot topics for deployment or support, or approach interesting networking topics in new ways. I started writing this column in December 2000 and it has been one of my favorite ongoing writing projects at Microsoft.
The Cable Guy article for May is DirectAccess and the Thin Edge Network, and describes how DirectAccess, a new technology in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, allows you to eventually reduce the number of servers providing remote access connectivity in your edge network.
In future articles, I will describe the new and improved networking technologies in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Click here for the RSS feed. If you have an idea for a topic that you would like to see covered in The Cable Guy column, please leave feedback on this post.
Thanks to Joshua Hoffman, Editor-in-Chief of TechNet Magazine, and his staff for welcoming me back. I can’t wait to write next month’s article.
