Head over to the Windows Mobile Device Center webpage at Microsoft.com to download

re: Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows Vista Now Available

So, about support to synchronize with Windows Calendar or Windows Contacts - is it planned in final version?

I find it quite odd when Microsoft cant synchronize device with own PIMs that are integrated into OS by default.

re: Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows Vista Now Available

To respond to Ingvarr's post on 10/7, we do not support syncing of Windows Calendar or Windows Contacts. But we do support syncing of Outlook Calendar and Contacts.

To respond to someone's post on 10/7, we are always considering and reprioritizing features based on market demand.

To respond to wizll's post, Sync Center and Windows Mobile Device Center are two different applications. Sync Center gives a summarized view of the sync status of a Windows Mobile device. To actually manage your device, you will want to open WMDC. Check in the Control Panel's Add/Remove programs to make sure it installed successfully. You should also see wmdc.exe running in the Task Manager.

General tip: After installing the latest Beta, you may need to disconnect and reconnect your device to see the WMDC application open.

Thanks for everyone's comments. For more in-depth troubleshooting help, please send mail to dcinput@microsoft.com.

I never got confirmation of it being installed successfully, so I rebooted. After rebooting, I noticed a new tray icon, Sync Center, so I plugged in my phone and it began to sync. Apparently it had installed fine. So far it seems to work fine with a few bugs and kinks still.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx

It suggests sending feedback and issues to the email address DCinput@microsoft.com.

If you are having any issues, I'd send them to that email address.

I'd also head over to the Windows Vista Newsgroups and post your problem there as several product teams monitor the newsgroups for potential issues and feedback:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.mspx

System.IO.FileLoadException: The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

 at Microsoft.WindowsMobile.DeviceManager.IForeman.StartFactory(Guid factory)

 at Microsoft.WindowsMobile.DeviceCenter.Program.Main()

When I try to rerun the drvupdate-x86.msi then it appears to start installing but never finish. I then go into Control Panel>Programs & Features and try to repair the Windows Mobile Device Center and Driver Update. The Windows Mobile Device Center appears to repair but the driver update wont.

Thoughts anyone about how to get it to work?

Took me a couple of plugs/unplugs to get it to initially work then a couple more to get it to save my password.

I THINK it only sync's with Outlook, not Windows Contacts & Calendar.

At least I can sync my phone again...yay!
