  • Hellomoto - flash intro to the Q

Check out this briliant Flash intro to the Motorola Q - Hellomoto
You can also register for more information on the Q as it becomes available

  • More Motorola Q coverage

This time in the Sunday Times business section - Paul Durman writing about HTC devices also commented on the Motorola Q. He notes that "Immediately after last week’s column on mobile e-mail, Motorola unveiled the Moto Q — Q for qwerty keyboard, that is. As slim as Motorola’s market-leading RAZR handset, and narrower and more stylish than a Blackberry, this is a stunning product. It will be here early next year and you will want one" I want one now :)

  • The Microsoft Partner Program Mobility Competency is coming!

The Mobility Solutions Competency is designed for partners who are providing solutions that enable customers to access information on the go - using Windows Mobile. This new Microsoft Competency is expected to launch in October 2005 and you can begin preparing today to meet the requirements to achieve the competency. More details are at https://partner.microsoft.com/global/program/competencies/mobilityprogram/

If the whole Microsoft Partner Program thing is new to you, check out http://www.microsoft.com/uk/partner/ and see the materials we already have posted to support partners selling Windows Mobile solutions at http://www.microsoft.com/uk/partner/sol_and_products/solutions/mobility/default.aspx - these include a video of two partners talking about the opportunity for Windows Mobile with Small Business Server and a great IDC paper about the same.

  • M&S signs Microsoft for smart phone trial

There's a superb article on Silicon.com about the Windows Mobile Smartphone trial that UK retailer Marks and Spencer are putting in place. Not sure about the sub-heading though "Mobile email not pants for execs". Check out the article at http://networks.silicon.com/mobile/0,39024665,39150773,00.htm

One of the great things about the article is that one of our UK partners, Conchango, is providing a dashboard solution to connect execs on the road to their Key Performance Indicators. More info about the KPI Dashboard (including demos) can be found here: http://www.conchango.com/Web/Public/Content/WhatWeDo/MobileBusiness.aspx

Seeing real solutions like this really helps to bring home the message about looking at mobility as a platform to build business out on to.

There is also a great quote from Gartner in the article:

Gartner analyst Monica Basso said Microsoft was the most developer-friendly mobile OS. "With other platforms [like BlackBerry], if you want to try application development on them it gets very difficult," she said
