So it’s been nearly two weeks since Windows Intune launched and there has been a lot of interest!  Thanks to those of you who have signed up for a 30 day trial subscription, and a BIG thank you to those of you who purchased subscriptions!  We here on the Windows Intune team are very proud of the service we have developed, and we hope that it will help you manage your IT environment easier and more efficient.

For those of you with 30 day trials, we wanted to explain the steps for converting to a paid subscription in more detail, so this process will be as clear as possible for you.  Here’s how you do it.

First of all, we should point out that moving from a trial to a paid subscription does not require you to uninstall/re-install your client software.  The trial subscription will in effect become your paid subscription, and any PCs you deployed will become part of your paid subscription.

To get started, you need to go to the Microsoft Online Customer Portal and log in using the same Live ID you used when you first signed up for the trial.  Next, click on the “Subscriptions” tab, circled here in red:

If you click on the “Services” tab, you will see the following.  Only use this option if you do not wish to keep your trial subscription, as this will create a new Windows Intune subscription.  If you take this option, you will need to uninstall your trial client software and re-deploy the client software from your new paid subscription. Only use this option if you do not want to keep your trial account.  Using this option will also require you to activate your subscription again.

When you select your Windows Intune trial subscription under the “Subscriptions” tab, you should see something similar to the image below.  Next to your Windows Intune Trial, select “Buy Now” from the pull-down menu, and click on the “Go” button.  You can also click on the “Buy now” button under the service name column on the left.

Enter the quantity of device licenses you would like to purchase and proceed to check-out.  Payment can be made in the form of a credit card or purchase order.

Hopefully the steps above will help guide you through the process of purchasing a subscription of Windows Intune, and making converting your trial as straightforward as possible.  Thanks and we hope you enjoy using Windows Intune!
