In an HPC cluster the computers continue to be discrete machines, but they are able to work together if you have applications written to take advantage of a cluster (such as an MPI-based application &lt;a rel="nofollow" target="_new" href="http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc720120(v=ws.10).aspx"&gt;technet.microsoft.com/.../cc720120(v=ws.10).aspx&lt;/a&gt;) or if you have a batch of operations that you can do in parallel.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I am interested in participating in the HPC beta, however, I would to know in advanced if HPC would support the following distributed computing scenario; &amp;nbsp;In essence if I have 3 computers, each with 2 processors (dual proc), 8 GB Ram and with 1 TB HD, I would like to have computer 1 to act as the main computer, computer 2 and 3 to act as resources, thus, from the OS and SQL server perspective, &amp;nbsp;the total hardware resources should be seen as a monolith (a single system) made of: 6 processors, 24 GB Ram, 3 TB. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Is the above specific scenario supported by HPC?&lt;/p&gt;
