Hello and welcome everybody to our Wednesday - Wiki Life post.
Did you ever have faced the following problem: You are on your profile page, checking your latest activities. Ok, I have answered a question in forum y, I commented on blog post x and...what's that? "The article z on the TechNet Wiki has achieved its 15 minutes of fame. Congratulations!" Did one single person has viewed my article 15 minutes long or what does this mean?
Or the following scenario: You have followed Tords blog post about 5 Tips to make your Wiki article look better and now you are interested on how much people are really reading your fantastic article and where are the people from (is it worth trying to translate my article into German?).
Here is the solution:
If you're interested in the page view count of your article(s) Peter Geelen has written a nice article about it. His article Track Your Wiki Article Page Views shows how to integrate web analytics into your article. Not that you only have to do six simple steps...he also mentions some important Dos and Don'ts that you should keep in mind.
To make a long story short: Check out Peters article! Peter, thank you so much! You have made my (wiki) life easier.
