Need a confession to make...

Not every WikiNinja is as ferocious as Ninja Ed. (Wish I would...)
And some of them have pets. Yes, pets. (Which Ed will never admit.)

Please meet my favorite companion: Kerberos.

Fun is, the puppy is quite popular on TNWiki.
Have a quick look at TNWiki or search the Wiki tags.

Fact is, every ITPro will inevitably bounce into him when configuring secure interoperability, server security, network applications...
If you rather like some multi-media hands-on, check these Technet Edge videos.
Actually I would like to embed them here but the editor does not allow the scripts, sorry.

UPDATE (18/jan/2012) : check out this video presentation on Technet Edge: Kerberos Authentication – How it works!

BTW: have you seen the impressive tag collection of Technet Edge. (Please, I do want this on Wiki too!)

It's the tuesday TNWiki Article Spotlight, so let me show you my top 3 puppy stuff on TechtNet Wiki.

1. A very nice article on FIM 2010: Kerberos Authentication Setup and FIM 2010 R2 (by fellow MVP Thomas Vuylsteke)

2. Service Principal Names (SPNs) are an important part of the Kerberos configuration.

Kerberos is nice to have when it works, but it can be very (very) hard to troubleshoot when it goes wrong.
So n° 3 certainly will be very helpful.

3. Kerberos Error Code: 0x7 KDC_ERR_S_PRINCIPAL_UNKNOWN (dsforum2wiki)

If you really want to know more about the lovely monster (or if you can't circumvent it anymore), here's a short list to bookmark:
Wiki search or Wiki tag search.
- Kerberos on Edge (FYI: be careful, the tag has been misspelled.)
- Kerberos on TechNet Gallery
- Kerberos on Microsoft Support
