Let me introduce myself! I have been with Microsoft for almost 8 years now. I was an SMS 1.2/2.0 Support Engineer in Product Support for about a year, became the Technical Lead on the SMS team for a couple more years, and managed the support team for another three years. I came to the SMS writing team about a year and a half ago to take my passion for the manageability technologies and writing to the next level.
I have created SMS scripts for Tech Center, reworked some of the ITMU content for SMS 2003 Beta 2, wrote much of the SMS 2003 R2 documentation, and have a document releasing soon on using SMS SQL views to create custom SMS reports. I am also focusing on Software Updates and Reporting for Configuration Manager.
I look forward to your new posts. I can use all the help I can get. I have been working with SMS, since SMS 1.2 and now we are running SMS 2003 w/SP2, SQL 2000 w/SP4 and we are getting ready to move to SQL 2005. We have about 16,000 desktops in over 130 countries, with 190 packages (It keeps me busy). Write faster, thanks. Roy
Likewise I'm looking forward to reading in-depth information on current SMS and the future. Hope this blog becomes the ultimate SMS resource.
