So you just finished installing OpsMgr successfully and now it is time to begin using it. This post has a collection of post-installation tasks that I use in every environment prior to deploying the first agent. As always, these are recommendations and suggestions. I hope you find them useful.
My only other suggestion is to focus on getting the management packs to workperfectly before worrying about who gets e-mail notifications as well as who gets consoles. Its tough enough tuning a MP in a large environment let alone being ping'ed by many people asking "what's this?" all at the same time.
Walter Chomak has posted some good guidance on what to do right after installation OpsMgr 2007: http
Thankyou Walter...Excellent summary
Can I ask about the General Diagnostics MP, you have an Event View for Unexpected Service Terminations.
Is it possible to generate a REPORT (or even an email) for specific alerts/errors listed in that window? I have tried several times, but cannot get a meaningful report about a specific service terminating on a server, even though your MP shows the alert.
where can I download your General Diagnostics Management Pack - 1.0?
I long since removed it because I quickly learned I am not a very good MP author :-) I am revisiting but have not completed yet.
