SQL Server 2014 and SharePoint Server 2013

3/21/2014 is the first full day of Spring, and the first full day of SQL Server 2014 RTM.  Undoubtedly the question will be asked when will SharePoint Server 2013 support SQL Server 2014.  While it remains early, SharePoint Server 2013 will support SQL Server 2014 with the April Cumulative Update.

  • Hi,

When will the april 2014 CU be available?

  • Very good, in fact yesterday, I was 'binging' to get the answer to this (SP2013 + SQL 2014).

I'd be surprised if it wasn't in April 2014 .....

  • April 2014 CU will be available in April 2014. ;) CU's usually release near the end of the month.

  • Thanks for posting this! Will Project Server 2013 and Duet Enterprise 2.0 also get updates for SQL Server 2014 support? Also: Any plans for support on SharePoint Server 2010, Project Server 2010, and Duet Enterprise 1.0?

  • "when will SharePoint Server 2013 support SQL Server 2014"

This question and this post puzzle me. People are already installing SP 2013 on SQL Server 2014 CTP1 and CTP2. They've been doing that for months. So SP already supports SQL Server 2014. So what is the April update actually going to do? Maybe I should reverse the question: How does SP 2013 not support SQL Server 2014?
