In keeping with the spirit of the season, I thought I’d introduce you to my latest reason to be thankful. As if a wonderful family and an incredible career weren’t enough..
Ever since this city boy relocated to rural Central Florida, his farm girl wife has been on him to get her a horse. I’m therefore hopefully as pleased as she is to introduce Gale’s early Christmas present, a six-year old Florida Cracker Horse stallion named Crackerjack:
Crackerjack came to us three weeks after he was rescued from a pretty rough situation. He’s been with us a week now. These pictures were taken the afternoon he arrived with us; he was 50-75 lbs. underweight when we got him and he’s probably gained 25 since then.
As this city boy finds himself unexpectedly bonding with his new equine charge, he can’t help but be impressed, yet again, by the blessings of his life. To be able to help and bond with such a fine animal in his time of need, to see the boys warming to him, to be led in this effort by my wife.. it’s wonderful and amazing and overwhelming.
Welcome to the family, Crackerjack, and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
