Today comes the unhappy news of the passing of John Backus , creator of FORTRAN, the first high-level computer language. T-SQL (and indeed all the other dialects we use to code computers today, from Java to C# to Ada) all rose from FORTRAN's seed....

Users of SQL Server 2005 maintenance plans should be aware of a change in SP2 that affects existing cleanup tasks until they're updated using the SP2 tools. Full details may be found here . I'll keep you posted on this issue.. -wp
