  • MPSA Co-Designed with Partners for Partners

    CRN's Kevin McLaughlin posted an article discussing the benefits of the new Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA) with an accompanying slide show on the“6 Important Things to Know About Microsoft New Licensing Program.” The article points to the experience of Microsoft Partner Insight involved with the co-design process and further commentary from IDC's Amy Konary highlighting the ease and flexibility of the MPSA. Microsoft Worldwide Licensing & Pricing General Manager, Richard Smith, also provides further context to the efforts behind the development of this agreement ushering in an upgraded, “friction-free” volume licensing experience for customers and partners.

  • New “Online Services Terms” Document Streamlines and Unifies Licensing Terms across Microsoft’s Online Services

    With Microsoft’s transformation to a Services and Devices company our portfolio of online services has grown rapidly and, with it, the documents, terms and conditions used to purchase them.  Microsoft is addressing this by launching a unified and simple “Online Services Terms” document that also provides all customers the best terms Microsoft has to offer for our Online Services.  

    The Online Services Terms (OST) document replaces the Online Services Use Rights document starting July 1, 2014. The OST will be refreshed on a quarterly basis similar to the Product Use Rights document and is posted at the same location (

    The Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA) is the foundation for the next generation of Microsoft Volume Licensing initiative, an end to end transformation of Volume Licensing that delivers an improved agreement structure, a more flexible and easy purchasing platform, and new systems and tools for all organizations that want to purchase Microsoft product licenses and services. The MPSA is recommended for customers purchasing 250 or more licenses of online services and/or software and who do not qualify for an Enterprise Agreement. Each day partners and customers are realizing the benefits of an upgraded licensing experience delivered through the MPSA.
