CRN's Kevin McLaughlin posted an article discussing the benefits of the new Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA) with an accompanying slide show on the “6 Important Things to Know About Microsoft New Licensing Program.” The article points to the experience of Microsoft Partner Insight involved with the co-design process and further commentary from IDC's Amy Konary highlighting the ease and flexibility of the MPSA. Microsoft Worldwide Licensing & Pricing General Manager, Richard Smith, also provides further context to the efforts behind the development of this agreement ushering in an upgraded, “friction-free” volume licensing experience for customers and partners.

Microsoft Volume Licensing will be attending the annual World Wide Partner Conference next week in Washington, D.C. If you’re interested in learning more about the MPSA and getting a hands-on demo, come see us in the Microsoft booth! You can also find more information on the MPSA on the Volume Licensing website as well as the latest case studies.

  • And for those of us under 250 seats?

  • Maybe this was designed in conjunction with the very, very few EA partners - but this screws 95% of partners supporting medium/small-business. Please stop lying to us - this is a terrible thing for most partners and customers since it changes the interaction with the cloud licensing and everyone now pays more.

I think Microsoft has just gone completely bonkers as of late.
