Information and announcements from Program Managers, Product Managers, Developers and Testers in the Microsoft Virtualization team.
Hyper-V Replica (HVR) is a new feature in Windows Server “8” Beta that provides asynchronous replication of Hyper-V virtual machines for BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) scenarios.
Watch this space for in depth blogs from the Hyper-V Replica team on how-to’s, tips & tricks, sample PS cmdlets, commentary on some of the engineering decisions (eg: why do we support server names in the product and not IP addresses, why did we design resync and scenarios where it would be used).
To know more about HVR, see Understand and Troubleshoot Hyper-V Replica. A quick summary which demonstrates the feature capabilities is available here.
We want this to be an interactive dialogue between you and the engineers that built this - so appreciate your comments/feedback !
Stay tuned and watch for posts with the HVR tag...

Apologies if this is a duplicate
Praveen, I put screen shots at skydrive.live.com
I cannot make my HV 8 hosts into replica targets or have the guest VMs replicate to a targer.
I disabled the firewall on both HV 8 hosts to test.
HV8 hosts (HV1 and HV2 in screen shots) Version 6.2.8250
Server 2012 Version 6.2.8400
Please ensure that you are running the RC build (8400) on all the servers. The error message seems to indicate that the system encountered a failure when loading the WMI object - which typically is seen when there is a build mismatch.
You can also try the following workaround - but there are *no* guarantees - restart vmms on 192.168.20.125 ("net stop vmms" followed by "net start vmms"). Also check if you are the admin or part of the Hyper-V administrator user group on 192.168.20.125. But to reiterate, the best option is to get all 3 servers on the same build.
Praveen, Thank you for the suggestions... I had restarted the vmms from services.msc on .125 and rebooted both HV servers. I will try the other options mentioned but, as I was building the HV hosts I could not find a newer version of HV server 8 to match the then available Server 2012 (8400)
Thank you again.
You can download the Hyper-V Server 2012 RC edition from www.microsoft.com/.../default.aspx. Can you give it a shot with this download?
