Check out this recent announcement from Super 8 Hotels, one of the world’s largest budget hotel operators with more than 2,300 properties. When Super 8 Hotels China needed better insights to analyze the performance of its hotels in country, the company decided to deploy SQL Server 2012. With an expansion goal of 1,000 hotels throughout China, the hotel operator required advanced business analysis capabilities to identify the best growth opportunities in the region.

SQL Server has become an essential component of Super 8’s long-term development strategy and the company attributes its success in China “to the superior market and business insights provided by Microsoft SQL Server 2012,” according to Joe Xu, senior vice president of distribution, Super 8 Hotels (China).

Super 8 China used SQL Server 2012 to create a centralized information-sharing and business intelligence platform that would reduce costs while improving availability and scalability. SQL Server 2012 also gathers and synthesizes data across all hotel properties automatically; a huge improvement to collecting the information manually which is both time consuming and prone to errors.
