With 2010 coming to an end, from all of us at Microsoft we would like to thank you each and everyone one of you for your valued partnership, commitment to excellence and active participation in our Monthly Partner Calls.  In 2011, we look forward to the opportunity to continue to bring riveting and valuable content to empower you even more as Microsoft Partners.

On Friday, December 17, 2010 our West Region team, Benny Madrid – General Manager, Microsoft West Region SMB&D, Ron Grattopp – Partner Technology Advisor, Microsoft SMB&D TS2 Team, and Suzanne Lavine – Regional Partner Territory Manager hosted the Monthly Partner Call with a focus on Microsoft Small Business Server 2011 Standard (SBS 2011 Standard) and insight into Microsoft’s Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) and the Microsoft Partner Network.

The Expert: Ron Grattopp, ronaldg@microsoft.com

SBS 2011 Standard Edition Overview

SBS 2011 Standard Edition has been released to manufacturing and is the on-premise solution replacement for SBS 2008 and SBS 2003.  In this session, Ron covered the SBS 2011 Standard Edition and discussed the product updates to the Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, and Update Services components, as well as the updates to remote access, management, backup, and other features that the SBS platform has been bringing to the table to benefit the small business segment.  There was a brief discussion of the upcoming SBS 2011 Essentials version, as well as quick overviews of system requirements and migration scenarios.  You can get more information on SBS 2011 at: http://www.microsoft.com/sbs/en/us/beta.aspx
