We told you SP1 was coming here and here, and we told you about some of the value it will provide here, here and here.  We have just released the final SP1 installation files and you can install SP1 from Windows Update, or download the full installation files from here.  The full documentation for SP1 is available here.  Take note that if you have installed a pre-release copy of SP1, you need to uninstall the pre-release version before the RTM version of SP1 can be installed.  If you don’t know if SP1 is right for you, we even have an SP1 evaluation resources page to help you understand the value SP1 will deliver.  If you choose to download the full installation files, the x64 file (windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe) is the same file you use to install SP1 on Windows 7 x64 and Windows Server 2008 R2.  Remember that Windows Server 2008 R2 is available in x64 bit only.  Windows Server 2008 was the last Windows Server OS to ship in 32-bit form.  Here is the FAQ around SP1 if you have any questions.

Until next time,

Rob
