At WPC 2014 in July, Microsoft partners heard firsthand from Satya Nadella, Phil Sorgen, Kevin Turner, and other Microsoft executives about our commitment to being a cloud-first, mobile-first company. Our success in that hinges on building and maintaining a healthy, thriving, cloud-capable partner ecosystem—something that the Microsoft President of North America, Judson Althoff, and the Vice President of the US Partner Group, Jenni Flinders, discussed in the US Keynote at WPC 2014.
As the Director of US Partner Enablement, I have responsibility for helping you understand how to build your sales and technical expertise with the latest Microsoft products and technologies through our training and certification offerings. Your continued investment in training, and earning credentials like accreditations and Microsoft certifications, has the benefit of increased success in converting opportunities to sales and increased efficiency when implementing new technologies.
A new IDC white paper, sponsored by Microsoft, about the value of training was recently featured on the Training Spotlight blog. I recommend downloading and reading this paper to understand how both companies and individuals benefit from a thoughtful approach to continued learning and pursuing credentials
Your benefits as a member of the Microsoft Partner Network include access to no-cost and low-cost training. One of the easiest ways to find training that applies to your role and goals, and your company’s business and goals, is to use the Microsoft partner learning paths. We also publish a training schedule—the Hot Sheet—so you can plan ahead and register for in-person courses and events, partner calls, and webcasts.
To help motivate you to advance your skills and earn accreditations or certifications, we are holding a monthly sweepstakes that features a Microsoft product, technology, or workload. See the schedule through October 31 below.
