I was reading an article the other day about the 10 best certifications available to the IT community. Would you believe it that out of a list of certifications designated as having significant value for a wide range of technology professionals, Microsoft’s New Generation Certifications made three of the top four spots? In addition to giving kudos to our credentials,  the author had some great insight into what makes any certification valuable: despite any claims of how a particular certification will help you advance, it’s the individual’s role, skills, and desired career path that makes a particular credential valuable. You all know where my vote would have gone, but all bias aside, there’s something about the timely and targeted nature of the New Generation Certification credentials that is creating value for a diverse group of Microsoft Certified Professionals, employers and customers nation-wide.
