This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft SharePoint. The vulnerability could allow remote code execution in the security context of a guest user if an attacker sent a specially crafted SOAP request to the Document Conversions Launcher Service in a SharePoint server environment that is using the Document Conversions Load Balancer Service. By default, the Document Conversions Load Balancer Service and Document Conversions Launcher Service are not enabled in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

How to use Team Foundation Server to Manage the SharePoint Life Cycle

1/6/2011 12:00 PM Mountain Time (US & Canada)

SharePoint has made tremendous impact in the enterprise for several reasons –affordability, ease of implementation, and rapid application deployment opportunities.  For these same reasons SharePoint has introduced risk in the organization because effective development practices are not viewed as necessary or useful for SharePoint deployments.  SharePoint is a powerful platform for Rapid Application Development (RAD) and often has an even shorter lifecycle than traditional RAD projects.   In this session we will discuss and demonstrate the role that TFS plays in the effective management of SharePoint implementations and custom development.  Requirements, testing, version control, and deployment of custom features for SharePoint will be demonstrated using TFS and VS 2010.
