Virtualization is an important technology that most every infrastructure should be taking advantage of. It reduces hardware dependence by essentially creating a hardware abstraction layer. But while the deployment of virtual systems doesn't have to be different than the deployment of physical systems, there are some good reasons for why you should make it different.

In the December installment of "The Desktop Files", Wes Miller explains how to set up virtualization in your organization, how to avoid the most common pitfalls, and how to deploy virtualization across a number of machines in your environment.  You'll learn how to use Sysprep, efficiently manage drivers, and gracefully handle unique values such as MAC addresses.
