Today’s Tip…

This was one of the first things that I got excited about in Windows Server 2012 R2. Although the iSCSI software target was part of the Windows Server 2012 release, it only supported the standard VHD format, unlike the rest of the product, which had moved on to supporting VHDx.

However, there is a downside to this as the updated iSCSI target will ONLY support VHDx. It will not support adding new virtual hard disks using the older VHD 1.0 format.
