Rick has been working with SQL Server since somewhere around the year 2000 when he was thrown into the deep end on a SQL
Server 6.5 system. He started his career as a developer and still does more BI work than he cares to, but over the years has moved over to the administration
side of the house with a near maniacal focus on performance tuning. Rick currently divides his time equally between Los Alamos National Laboratory
(where he fixes performance issues and advises a team of DBAs) and Data FLowe Solutions LLC (where he does a little bit of all things SQL). Rick does
occasionally fantasize about returning to his beloved Minnesota but at the moment is focusing on expanding his consulting business from New Mexico into
