..don't talk about Advanced Infrastructure. Or so at least it was until now.

What am I talking about? I'm talking about our Microsoft Certified Master: Advanced Infrastructure certification. Never heard of it? Well, you're not alone. This was a Master track that we did an alpha and beta for and then decided not to pursue further for the time being. There were many reasons for this, and it is still in the back of our minds how we can perhaps surface that content in a different way and/or when.

But, our choice to not proceed with the program at the time, should not take away from the great accomplishments the individuals who did manage to pass all of the tests achieved. You'll find those folks listed on our newly published MCM/MCA Bio page.

Please join me in congratulating all of them!

  • Thank you Per.  Thank you to Walter, Lutz and the others involved in finally recognizing this.

  • Hi Per.. Can you please tell us more about what this Master cert is testing?? Advanced infras is a little vague..

  • The concept behind Advanced Infrastructure was to be a deep dive of the server OS outside of AD.  So it covered internals, server architecture, security, networking down to the packet level, virtualization, high availability, file systems and a bit more all wrapped up in MOF/ITIL.

As for why they decided to drop it, since it was chest deep across an entire lake rather than diving down on a single topic to the bit level it didn't quite fit with the other master tracks.  Or that's what I was told.

  • Just as Doug said (thanks for jumping in, Doug). We also needed to focus on the core/original deliverables / Master tracks to make sure we achieved quality across any and all offerings that were brought to market.
