Create a Linear Series of Values in Excel
Here’s how to use Auto Fill to create a series of values:
Create the initial series. In a Microsoft Office Excel workbook, type
1
in the A1 cell and
2
in the A2 cell.
Select cells A1 and A2.
Click the
Auto
Fill
handle (the little black box in the lower-right corner of the selection) and drag to A15 to fill the cells with the numbers 1 through 15. You can create different series of numbers, odd and even numbers, or even dates.
